OVERVIEW (Updating)
SSeL (Smart Structure engineering Lab.) was established in 1995 under Professor Jeong-Tae Kim, researching and educating in the field of Smart Structure engineering. SSeL’s researches specialize in damage detection theories, smart sensors and wireless sensor network and application of SHM (structural health monitoring) technique to civil and marine infrastructures. Prof. Kim has served as presidents of various international and domestic SHM engineering societies such as Editor-in-Chief, Structural Monitoring and Maintenance, Editorial Board, Int. J. of Sustainable Materials and Structural Systems, the world congress on Advances in Structural Engineering and Mechanics (ASEM), etc. His graduates are working as professors, researchers, government officers and engineers in various construction and engineering companies in not only Korea but also other countries.
Until now, Prof. Kim has served the director of BK21 FOUR Research and Education Team of Disaster Mitigation Technology for Smart Marine City Infrastructure, director, Center for Smart Infra-Structure Technology (CSIST), Pukyong National University, and principal or co-principal investigator various projects. We have published over 85 SCI-indexed journals, 12 Scopus-indexed journals, 60 domestic journals, technical books, book chapters, and 7 patents.
