Systems Management and Engineering (SME) is an inter-disciplinary profession coordinating all the individual functions into a harmonious whole system.
SME optimizes overall system by developing, improving, and implementing integration of people, money, knowledge, and information while other engineering disciplines focus on specific technologies or industrial areas.
Based on the knowledge of scientific disciplines and management strategies, SME have expanded its application into a wide range of industrial areas including manufacturing system, logistic and supply-chain system, service system, information system, as well as technology management. Adopting new technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and Internet-of-Things (IOT) etc., SME also faces to future innovations induced by the 4th industrial revolution.
Our department recently launched new
'Joint Graduate Degree Program' named as 'Industrial and Data Engineering'
developed in collaboration between SME and graduate school of MOT (Management
of Technology). Under the advisory of many excellent professors at SME + MOT
the student will study emerging 4th industrial revolution technologies and
strong fundamentals and have many opportunities to participate in many
public/private projects. Student also will be advised by ed by excellent
professors in both departments.
