5. Best Student Paper Awards
Best Student Paper Awards will be presented to excellent papers by students. The winners will be chosen at the meeting held at the last-day lunch of the conference. The number of awardees will be determined based on the number of student participants from each university.
6. Student workshop
A student workshop will be held at 10-12 AM on 29 October. The theme of the workshop is ‘the role of civil engineers on hazard prediction and mitigation.’ Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. In the design, construction, and maintenance, natural and man-made hazard is one of the important factors to be considered. The hazard must be predicted and mitigated for the soundness of the physical and naturally built environment. This workshop aims to understand hazard in each country and think over how to reduce risk due to the hazard. Also, the participants of the workshop share the understanding of hazard in the global level and cooperate for the mitigation of risk from the global hazard.
We hope that each university provides a student leader's contact information with Prof. Jin Ho Lee (jholee0218@pknu.ac.kr) for the organization of the student workshop. In addition, some student activities are suggested to be held on the banquet of the evening of 29 October. The students can also discuss this matter with Prof. Jin Ho Lee
